Will You Find Dirt Cheap Airline Tickets in 2009?

Filed Under Dirt Cheap Airline Tickets |

In this period of the year, many people start thinking about their Christmas Vacations, knowing that, as for a lot of other human activities, to find dirt cheap airline tickets, you have to think well in advance in order to gain an advantage above other competitors and to find the best tickets before someone else grab them.
During this year we have saw the cost of fuel rising up to levels never known before, and so have done the costs for a airline ticket.  We know that internal US airfares has increased by 10 percent in the second quarter of 2008 over the second quarter of 2007. International aifare has grown even more, climbing up to a 11 percent when compared to the same time of the year 2007. Eevn if a lot of people is starting to get thei airline tickets following methods that are explained here, like booking in advance, buy from low cost companies and so on, high fuel prices, cuts in the capacity of airplanes and new fares taxes, are driving up the costs of flying. Anyway, advance purchase is, in most instances, a sure tactic to save money. More than 80 percent of  airline tickets are purchased by discounted coach fares. It is almost incredible to think that only a shift from a 7-day-advance  to a 14-day-advance can lead to a save more than 15 percent of airline ticket price.

So, even with the increased price of fuel, and other rising prices factors, it is still possible to get some dirt cheap airline tickets.

In 2009 things should get better: A major american airline company, Southwest Airline, has published its prices for the first three months of the next year, and it is possible to observe a drop in prices.  Possibly this will lead other airline companies to frop their prices for the same period, making it eay for a customer to gain cheap airline tickets during the first quarter of 2009. Southwest Airline, unlike many other airlines, permits only a six month advance reservation. It is possible, so, that after March, prices will rise again.

So, if you are planning a trip to happen in the first three months of 2009, some savings will await you. If you have not yet decided when to fly, maybe you shoyld consider the first quarter of 2009 as a good period of the year to get some dirt cheap airline tickets.
