Filed Under Dirt Cheap Airline Tickets |

Piccadilly Circus and Buckingham Palace, the West End and Covent Garden, many many tourists come to London every year to see those and many others wonder of this town, better if they can do it flying with dirt cheap airline tickets.

The first point to consider if you want to save some money on airline tickets is to avoid the main airport of the town you are headed for . London has at least three airports that can be viewed as a good choice if savings is first tought in your mind. The first one to consider is Stansted, that, even if it is far from the center of London, is well connected and is the house of major hubs for easyJet and Ryanair, two of the most important european low cost companies.

The Luton airport is nearer to London but it is also smaller than Stansted. Being a smaller airport has its pros and cons: for the pros you can consider a far lesser time of waiting for you baggages. The cons will be lesser luxuries and less services, but anyway, Luton is an airport that can offer to the traveller anything he should need.

The third airport for a dirt cheap airline tickets searcher is Gatwick that is even nearer to London and a more working one.

The major low cost companies that can offer very cheap airline tickets operating around these three airport are Ryanair and Easyjet, whom we have already talked about. Other companies are German Wings, Air Berlin, Iceland Express and Norwegian. Two emerging companies are Wizzair and Sky Europe.

In this first part we will talk about Ryanair, easyJet and German Wings.

Maybe the most important low cost european airline is Ryanair, an irish company that is by far the biggest of all european low cost airline operators. Ryanair has its base in London at the Stansted airport but is also starting to operate at Gatwick and Luton, but the base is clearly Stansted. Ryanair links London to almost all the major european cities, among the destinations we can find Rome, Venice, Milan, Dusseldorf , Frankurft, Graz, Salzburg and Oslo. Be aware that any passenger can bring up to three bags but in this case you will have to pay a fee. You can also carry a hand baggage but the weight must not exceed 10 kg.

Easyjet also has a lot of travels from London to alla major europeani cities and this company has its flight divided almost equally by the three airport we already talked about, most of the flights of easyJet don’t collide with those of Ryanair so there is more choice for a dirt cheap airline ticket. Easyjet, treat baggages in a different way than Ryanair: you can carry up to eight baggages and the one you can take by hand with you on the Airlines has no weight limit.Be aware that while almost all Ryanair flights take off from Stansted, the various destination that sum up the offer of easyJet are divided through three airports, so check their site carefully.

Germanwings is a relatively new company that offer no-frills, cheap airline tickets, and connects many European town to London. Its hub is in Stansted and in the typical fashion of low cost companies has non free food aboard, offers no refunds, and has only point to point travels. Baggages can be brought to the check-in for a collective weight of up to 20 Kg. The hand baggage must weight no more than 8 Kg.

That’s all for now about dirt cheap airline tickets to and from London. In the next post we will see other low cost airline companies that link the capital city of England to the rest of the world.
